The purpose of this project is to design innovative solutions that enhance the in-store grocery shopping experience for specific user groups, such as mothers seeking meal inspiration and novice cooks unfamiliar with grocery shopping and meal preparation. By understanding the unique challenges and needs of these user segments, we aim to develop engaging and supportive experiences that make physical grocery shopping more enjoyable, efficient, and rewarding.

In this project, our team aimed to enhance the in-store grocery shopping experience for mothers seeking meal inspiration and novice cooks. Through background research, observations, and interviews, we gained insights into the challenges and needs of these user groups. We then ideated and narrowed down to a solution involving in-store recipe recommendations, clear ingredient locations, and food samplers. Evaluation interviews and secondary research indicated the potential of this concept to boost customer engagement, loyalty, and sales for grocery stores. Our final solution combines the key features of prominently displayed recipes, an "IKEA-style" layout, QR codes for instructions, and potential app integration to create a convenient, educational, and engaging omnichannel experience that addresses user pain points while driving profitability for retailers.
