This project includes myself, Ishret Sidhu, Knic Royer, Lydia Avery, Ryan Pearson
In this project, we explored boilermaker attitudes toward starship robots, automated delivery, and design a unique starship delivery system that goes beyond food service and produces new kinds of human-human connections. Possible design spaces include, but are not limited to, supply and manufacturing delivery, message delivery, lost and found, tours, navigation, or even campus-wide games.
Initial Data Collection and Analysis
Secondary Data Collection and Analysis

Throughout this project, I was able to learn and explore different ideas of User Centered Design. There are many ways to research about users and find solutions to the issue. First, it is very important to find out common issues related to the topic, in this case was the issue with the starship. We tried gathering information online and also from people nearby, like other students to gather both common issues and some realistic issue. We then analyzed data, creating journey maps and affinity diagrams to understand why these issue occurs. In this project, our goal was to find a way to increase human to human interaction so we put our main focus on that and tried ideation of different ideas. This was an interesting process and it was a great part of teamworking, because we designers sometime stick with my “favorite” idea, but listening to other peoples’ opinion and seeing different perspectives allowed us to find the best idea. Another concept I learned from this project was time management. Since only thing we knew the deadline for was our midpoint evaluation and final presentation, we were required to schedule and plan everything by ourselves. This gave me a full experience of real life project.
